At Ferguson Intermediate, we believe that reading is the foundation of lifelong learning. Our reading program is designed to foster a love for literature, enhance comprehension skills, and encourage critical thinking among our students. We promote Reading as being something more than just a pastime—it's a gateway to infinite possibilities and a skill that shapes our personal and academic growth. Writing

The focus of writing is on teaching students to write for a variety of purposes, using the codes, conventions, and structures necessary for clear communication. Each term students will plan, draft, revise, and edit their writing, before producing a completed text to either entertain, inform, or persuade their intended audience. Our goal is to support students in achieving success with their writing.
